Ligao City, Philippines – September 14, 2025 – A spirit-filled gathering took place as the Albay Cluster II churches of PMCC (4th Watch)—comprising Ligao, Pio Duran, Polangui, and Tabaco—came together at the Kawa-kawa Function Hall to celebrate God’s overflowing grace and faithfulness. The momentous occasion was themed “Glorifying God through Church Expansion and Thanksgiving”, anchored on 2 Corinthians 4:15-16, highlighting the importance of giving thanks and pursuing church growth to magnify the Lord.
A Gathering of Unity and Thanksgiving
The celebration opened with an atmosphere of reverence and joy as brethren from the four participating churches united in worship. Songs of praise and heartfelt prayers filled the venue, setting the tone for a day dedicated to glorifying God. The event became a powerful reminder that every milestone in the life of the church—whether through thanksgiving or expansion—ultimately points back to the greatness of God.
Presbyter Ruben Ventura, the dedicated Southern Bicol District Coordinator, delivered the Word of God during the morning service. His message was a timely encouragement, reminding the congregation that true thanksgiving is not only spoken but also lived out through service, generosity, and unwavering faith. Drawing from the anchor verse, 2 Corinthians 4:15-16, he emphasized how the growth of the church brings glory to God as more people come to know Him and offer their lives in worship.
Theme: Glorifying God Through Expansion and Thanksgiving
The theme of the celebration resonated strongly with all attendees. Expansion, as highlighted in the preaching, is not limited to numbers but also refers to the deepening of faith, the strengthening of local churches, and the equipping of believers to serve with excellence. Thanksgiving, on the other hand, is the natural response to God’s abundant grace—a testimony that every blessing received is an opportunity to honor Him.
The brethren were reminded that growth and gratitude go hand in hand. When churches expand, more souls are reached, and when thanksgiving abounds, God’s name is exalted. This biblical truth was not only proclaimed but also witnessed in the joyful unity of the four congregations present.
Strengthened Fellowship Among Churches
Beyond the worship and preaching, the gathering also strengthened the bonds among the Albay Cluster II churches. Leaders and members alike were encouraged as they shared testimonies, fellowshipped with one another, and celebrated the victories God has brought to their respective locales. The event highlighted the beauty of the church body working together—each locale contributing to the mission while sharing in the joy of God’s blessings.
The collaboration of Ligao, Pio Duran, Polangui, and Tabaco churches stood as a powerful testament of unity in mission. Each congregation brought their own stories of growth, challenges, and triumphs, which collectively displayed the Lord’s work in Southern Bicol.
Looking Ahead with Faith
As the celebration drew to a close, the brethren left with renewed strength and inspiration to continue expanding the work of the Lord. The message of thanksgiving lingered in their hearts, reminding them that every step forward is an opportunity to glorify God. With steadfast faith, the churches of Albay Cluster II look ahead to a future filled with greater victories, stronger fellowship, and more souls won for Christ.
The gathering at the Kawa-kawa Function Hall was not just an anniversary or thanksgiving service—it was a declaration of faith, unity, and commitment to God’s mission. Indeed, as the Scriptures remind us, “All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God” (2 Corinthians 4:15, NIV).
